Project Disha organises an Entrepreneurship Development Training in Jaunpur
Project Disha organised a three-day Entrepreneurship Development Training from 9-11 June 2025 in Saidabad, Sirkoni Block, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. 42 women actively participated in the training sessions. The event aimed to inspire and educate aspiring women entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their businesses. Discussions at the event focused on the importance of women’s entrepreneurship and strategies to promote women-led enterprises.
Project Disha is empowering 15,000 rural women by providing them with intensive entrepreneurship development training and business development support. Since its launch in April 2025, the Project has conducted 124 Village Introductory Events, reaching 6,369 women. Across the six operational districts in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, 1,837 women have completed their Entrepreneurship Development Training, 70 women set up new or improved their existing businesses. The training helped in enhancing their entrepreneurial capacity and supported them in strategically planning the expansion of their existing businesses or start-up ideas. The Project also encourages participants to align their ventures with the local enterprise ecosystem to minimise systemic risks.
In partnership with the YES Foundation, Humana People to People India is implementing the Disha Project in 3 states Assam, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for supporting an entrepreneurial ecosystem for women in rural areas.
