Bringing TB and NCD Screening Closer to Communities
Humana People to People India has started community-based screening under Project SWASTHYA Haryana across 11 districts, bringing integrated Tuberculosis (TB) and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening services closer to vulnerable and underserved communities.
Through dedicated field teams, mobile screening activities and coordination with the district health system, the project is working to promote the early identification of TB symptoms and NCD risks, facilitate timely referrals and connect individuals with appropriate healthcare services.
On 26 September 2026, the Faridabad team conducted screening camps in cooperation with the Community Health Centre (CHC), Tigaon and Indian Oil Corporation, completing 279 X-ray screenings in a single day.
HPPI is implementing Project SWASTHYA Haryana in partnership with JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) under the TIFA grant, across 11 districts, in alignment with the Government of India’s National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).
The project works alongside communities and the health system to strengthen early detection, timely referral and access to healthcare services, contributing to improved health outcomes for underserved communities.
