Project Sashakt Showcases Artisanal Handloom at Monsoon Mélange
HPPI’s Project Sashakt exhibited handloom products at Monsoon Mélange held at Aga Khan Hall, New Delhi, from 29–30 August 2025. The exhibition celebrated India’s rich heritage while supporting artisans, promoting slow fashion, and encouraging sustainable, handmade products. From handwoven sarees and block prints to home décor and gourmet items, the event showcased authentic crafts that embody tradition, creativity and sustainability.
Through Project Sashakt, HPPI is strengthening the technical and management capacity of handloom cooperatives and women weavers in Assam’s Dhubri, Chirang and Kamrup districts. By providing skill upgradation, credit, and market linkages, the Project is empowering 2,500 women weavers to improve their incomes and take Assamese handloom products to national and international markets. Project Sashakt is being supported by the EU and is being implemented by HPPI. Working with the community, we are weaving change—one thread at a time.
