Project LEAD Launch Events

Launch Events for the Project LEAD (Leveraging, Engaging and Advocating to Disrupt TB transmission) were held in Kolkata and Hyderabad. The primary objectives of these events were to introduce and inform both government and non-government stakeholders about the LEAD project’s goals, initiate collaborations with relevant authorities and share insights on its implementation. The project focuses on the migratory, slum and homeless populations and other hard-to-reach and high-risk urban poor.
The event in Kolkata was held on 15th September 2023. Dr Santosh Kumar Roy (Joint Director of Health Services and State TB Officer); Dr Prasun Kumar Ghosh (District TB Officer); Dr Asmaa Banu Varada (WHO Consultant); Sanjeev Bhatt, (Director, HPPI) and Dr Sugata Mukhopadhyay (Technical Expert, HPPI) were present at the event among others. The launch event in Hyderabad was held on 22nd September 2023. Dr A Rajesham (State TB Officer, Telangana); Dr T Damodhar (Deputy District Medical Health Officer [DMHO] and Sneha Shukla (WHO representative) participated in the event.
HPPI is implementing LEAD project in four mega cities in partnership with USAID in collaboration with John Snow Inc. (JSI).
