HPPI presents its teacher education implementation methodology at NIEPA 

Snorre Westgard, CEO HPPI and Abhishek Dev Narayan, Education Specialist HPPI presented and discussed HPPI’s teacher education methodology and implementation model in a National Consultative Workshop. National Institute of Education Planning & Administration (NIEPA) organised this workshop. Developing Academic Leadership for Strengthening District Institute for Education and Training (DIETs) was the purpose of this event. 

The discussions included reflection on the practices of the state/NGOs at DIETs and the structure and role of DIET. Special emphasis was laid on in-service teacher education, pre-service teacher education, research and institutional development among others. HPPI has developed teaching-learning material, various education programmes and tool-kits in alignment with state-run D.Ed./D.El.Ed curricula in the DIETs. 

The other participants included faculties from DIETs,  State Council of Educational Research and Training  (SCERT), Central Institute of Education (CIE), NIEPA and education specialists as well as the representatives from NGOs. The structure and role of DIETs as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was discussed.  This two-day workshop was held on 30th and 31st March in New Delhi.
