Udyogini women showcased handmade products in an exhibition at Jhajjar Power Limited Plant
Women entrepreneurs who have set-up or expanded their businesses with the support from project Udyogini have showcased their products at an exhibition organised at Jhajjar Power Limited, an Apraava Energy power plant township on 15th October. Women displayed eco-friendly hand-made products made with natural materials, such as grasses, fabric, seeds, etc. They also set-up stalls for organic vegetables grown at their Nutritional gardens.
It was an overwhelming experience for the women from the project villages as they enjoyed the exposure. The people from the JPL township appreciated the products made by women and most of the women entreprenuers were able to sell all the products they displayed at the exhibition. Some women also received advance booking to make more such products.
One of the senior citizens from the JPL township inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Bhaskar Bhattacharjee (Senior Vice President O&M, Jhajjar Power Limited) and Rajeev Rao (Head of HR and Admin), Binita Kalita (Head of communications), Manbar Singh Bhandari (Head of CSR) from JPL and Udyogini team leader Pushpa Bist from HPPI.
People from township also discussed the making process of the products with the women from community.
The Udyogini project has not only helped the women from the community to gain financial autonomy, but it also encouraged them to dream of a better future for themselves, their children, and families.
