STEAM Workshop organised at NeTT Siddharthnagar, UP
HPPI’s Necessary Teacher Training Programme (NeTT), Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh organised a one-day workshop at the Block Resource Center, Bhanvapur as part of the Teacher Engagement Programme on 21st August 2024. The workshop focused on enhancing teachers’ understanding of STEAM or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics education and its significance in developing scientific thinking among primary school students.
54 Primary School Teachers from Bhanvapur participated in this engaging session, where they explored the role of STEAM in fostering curiosity and critical thinking in young learners. The workshop featured various demonstrations, including experiments to explain the floating process using a lemon in water, the STEAM boat, and the working mechanisms of submarines. Through these activities, teachers gained practical insights into how to teach complex scientific concepts in a simplified manner.
Participants also worked in small groups to create STEAM-based educational examples that can be applied in primary school settings, presenting their ideas to fellow educators. Bindeshwari Prasad Mishra (Block Education Officer, Bhanvapur) praised the initiative and encouraged teachers to adopt innovative teaching methods to build a vibrant and effective learning environment in schools.
HPPI is implementing the NeTT Programme in partnership with the Rural India Supporting Trust (RIST) across 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is designed to improve the quality of education in the state, with a focus on empowering teachers to use modern methods of teaching for inspiring young minds.
