Project Hope’s Community Awareness Event in Delhi
HPPI’s Project Hope, Delhi’s Targeted Intervention organised a community event on 19th December 2023 at Joshi Colony, IP Extension, East Delhi. The event aimed to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and tuberculosis (TB) among the local population.
RK Tyagi (District Program Manager, AIDS Prevention Control Unit), Quashim Iqbal (Project Manager, SHAPE India), teams from Arogya Sansthan Hospital and Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and Ravindra Kumar (Project Leader TASA, HPPI) were at the event among others. The conversations at the event focused on educating the audience about the key aspects of HIV/AIDS, STIs and TB. Key populations, stakeholders and network operators were addressed to increase their understanding of these health issues. The programme also incorporated an engaging street play to effectively convey crucial information to the community. Approximately 170 individuals actively participated in the informative event. The engagement of the community members ensured that the awareness messages reached a diverse audience.
