HPPI Participates in Reimagining 2024 Conference, Helsinki
Humana People to People India (HPPI) participated at the Reimagining 2024 Conference in Helsinki from June 17th to 20th, 2024. It was organised by the University of Helsinki to bring together researchers, educational institutions, governments, and social actors from 53 countries to address global challenges in the teaching profession. During the conference there were vital discussions on the future of teaching. Anudeep Lehal (Senior Content Developer, HPPI) shared key findings from a recent research study, Impact Assessment of the Teacher Engagement Programme; showcasing how HPPI’s innovative teacher training methods have significantly boosted student learning levels across various age groups in Government Primary Schools in Uttar Pradesh. Abhishek Kumar (Education Specialist, HPPI) presented a research paper on Student Driven Methodology to Effectively Implement A Pre-service Teachers Professional Development Programme. He discussed a student-driven teacher training methodology designed to address this challenge by empowering pre-service teachers to take charge of their learning. This approach is the core component of a long-term programme supporting 31 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) in 6 states of India.
The pressures on teachers worldwide are immense, and collective action is the only way forward to transform education. Throughout the sessions, it became clear that a united effort is needed to overcome the various challenges faced by the teaching profession. During the closing ceremony, Professor Arto Kallioniemi, UNESCO’s Chair on Values, Dialogue, and Human Rights, expressed his appreciation for the sharing and collaboration among participants and his hope that together we can drive change.
