HPPI and HCL join hands to promote Solid Waste Management
Solid Waste Management is one of the major environmental problems of Indian cities. Under the Chakachak Village Project, Humana People to People India and HCL Foundation joined hands to organise Cleanliness drives and raise awareness among the people and the local community of 20 villages in Noida about Waste management, Waste Segregation. The project team has created groups on WhatsApp to discuss and spread information on how people can keep their village clean.
To initiate, 1,035 houses were mapped during the household baseline survey and, in its second phase of cleaning till February 2021, 26 cleaning actions were carried out along with which 4,750 reusable cloth bags and 847 dustbins were distributed. Along with this, 100 slogans and 20 murals were also painted across the 20 villages in Noida, namely, Aghapur, Atta, Barola. Bahlolpur, Chaurasadatpur, Chhalega Bangar, Chhijarshi, Chotpur, Harijan Basti, Hazrat Wajidpur, Hoshiyarpur, Jhundpura, Mamura, Morna, Naya Bans, Nithari, Raghunathpur, Rasoolpur Navada, Sadarpur and Bishanpura.
