Graphic Anthology Women in Action Launched
UN Women launched Women in Action, a graphic anthology, capturing stories of resilience of women from HIV infected, affected and vulnerable communities on 11th March 2024 at We The People Hall, UN House, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Susan Fergusan (Country Representative, UN Women India), David Bridger (Country Director, UNAIDS India) and Snorre Westgaard (CEO, Humana People to People India) did the honours of launching the book.
Humana People to People India, in collaboration with UN Women, initiated the Women in Action Project to empower HIV/AIDS affected women. The project’s core objectives include providing formal education, enhancing employability skills and fostering entrepreneurship opportunities for these women.
The book Women in Action tells the inspiring stories of five women and girls involved in a project aimed at empowering them. Written from their perspective, these stories highlight their struggles, ambitions, and the barriers they’ve broken. It’s a celebration of their journey towards financial independence, personal empowerment and defining success on their own terms.
