Discussion held on Impact of Public Private Partnership in the Social Sector 

HPPI celebrated its 25 years by discussing the Impact of Public-Private Partnership in the Social Sector on 8th July at FICCI House, New Delhi. The event celebrating exchange of perspectives, knowledge and networks for solving the shared challenge was attended by 100 people.

Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, School Education & Literacy, was the chief guest and presented the keynote speech on the achievements by the Ministry of Education and the role of the private sector and civil society in reaching the goals set by Nat. Education Policy 2020. Snorre Westgaard, CEO HPPI, spoke about the organisation’s growth in the last 25 years and Surina Rajan, former Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards, gave the opening words highlighting her experience working in partnership with HPPI.  The event was co-hosted by HPPI and Nexus of Good. Anil Swarup, Founder Chairman, Nexus of Good and former Secretary, School Education & Literacy congratulated HPPI on championing the partnerships for development. The event also marked a new beginning of  partnership between Nexus of Good and HPPI. 

Binodanand Jha, Former Director,  Research & Training Education Dept., Bihar, elaborated empowerment of Teacher Training Institutes & Development of School Complexes. O. L. Mandloi, Deputy Secretary, Department of Education, Madhya Pradesh, shared how Madhya Pradesh improved its National Achievement Survey results. Garima Dutt, CEO, YES Foundation, spoke about how Yes Foundation in partnership with HPPI has been investing in sustainable livelihood for women entrepreneurs. Manu Mayank, Head – Social Impact & Sustainability, HPPI highlighted how our work is reaching impact at scale through partnership. Dr Dhir Jhingran, Executive Director, Language and Learning Foundation, spoke about Development Impact Bond as an effective mechanism to enhance public-private partnerships. Venkatesh Roddawar,  Project Director,  John Snow, India spoke about the TIFA mechanism in support of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program. The social work of the Founder of Sulabh International, Padma Bhushan Dr Bindeshwar Pathak, was also recognised. A stall exhibiting the handicrafts made by the women entrepreneurs from our Udyogini Project was presented for sale at the event.
