Continued support for needy in pandemic
HPPI continues to assist the vulnerable amidst the COVID-19 crisis
Across several states of India, authorities have slowly lifted restrictions on the lockdown. However, the crisis of COVID-19 still persists and with it, the lack of essentials and livelihood faced by the poor and marginalised.
In an effort to support the vulnerable communities still reeling under the pressures brought about by the pandemic, HPPI with the help of its partner in development, UPS Foundation, recently organised a grocery and hygiene kit distribution activity for the families living in the Ambujwadi slum, Mumbai. Through this activity, 265 families were provided with dry ration kits and hygiene items, reaching 1,325 beneficiaries.
The kits were designed to maintain the health and hygiene of a family of 5 for a month.
Similarly, on January 2, the Kadam Step-Up Centre Jharsa, Gurugram with assistance from Kaleem Pasha, Kant Munjal Foundation (RKMF) extended its support to the migrant population of the nearby area by providing them with 100 kg of grocery which included essentials such as flour, rice, pulses, oil and spices.
