HPPI Launches Massive Tree Plantation Initiative
Humana People to People India has committed to plant 1 lakh trees in this monsoon season around its project locations in 14 states. The initiative was launched on 5th June 2024, World Environment Day with the planting of 10,000 trees at different locations. Afforestation not only replenishes the earth’s green cover but also contributes to biodiversity conservation, soil erosion prevention and water conservation. Events within this initiative included spirited rallies and tree plantation drives which saw active participation of school students, parents, teachers and community members. Building environment literacy along with planting trees is important for supporting environmental conservation. The drives educate the community about the significance of nurturing and protecting our natural resources, with each participant taking responsibility for the care of the planted saplings. These initiatives foster a sense of environmental responsibility and community involvement, promoting a greener and healthier future.
