HPPI’s Children with Special Needs (CWSN) Project, Panipat organised an Equipment Distribution Camp on 23rd December 2023. Essential assistive equipment was provided to 33 children with special needs during the event. These devices included wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, hearing aids, MR special kits, CP chairs and commode chairs. A pledge for creating an inclusive society for children with special needs was undertaken through a signing campaign with approximately 120 participants endorsing the cause. The event was attended by Avneet Kaur (Mayor, Panipat), Meenu Sharma (Member of Haryana State Children’s Commission), Vivek Chaudhary (CEO of Zilla Parishad HCS), Chand Bhatia (Representative of MP Karnal) and Anish Jain (Vice Principal of the Blind School) among others. HPPI team members including Jyotish Kumar (Project Leader CWSN, HPPI) and Sudha Jha (Chief Advisor, HPPI) were also present. Insightful interactions highlighting the need of integrating the children with disabilities into mainstream society were held at the event. The project has reached and supported over 80 children in Panipat.
