HPPI Opens its First Thrift Fashion Shop in Gurugram
Humana People to People India (HPPI) inaugurated its first Thrift Fashion Shop at Sadar Bazar, Gurugram on 21 February 2026. The shop was inaugurated by Sachin Dewatwal (Councillor of the Municipal Corporation Gurugram), alongside Dr Padma (Chairperson & Director, HPPI) and Snorre Westgaard (CEO, HPPI).
The launch witnessed an encouraging response from the community. 185 customers, including HPPI staff, visited the shop on the first day. A total of 419 clothing items were sold, generating sales worth Rs 1,04,000, reflecting strong public interest in affordable and sustainable fashion.
Through this Thrift Fashion Shop, HPPI aims to minimise environmental impact and make the best possible use of already-produced clothing by collecting, sorting and reselling garments. The initiative provides affordable clothing, supports the fundamental human right to clothing, and generates employment and income opportunities.
