NeTT Meerut Organises STEAM Workshop
HPPI’s Necessary Teacher Training (NeTT) Programme, in collaboration with DIET Meerut, organised a one-day Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (STEAM) Workshop on 7th January 2026. A total of 85 student-teachers from the batch of 2024–26 participated in the workshop, which focused on strengthening scientific thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning.
During the workshop, Salman Meraj (Senior Lecturer, DIET Meerut) shared key insights on how STEAM education nurtures curiosity-driven and experiential learning environments for children, and Dr Prema Arya (Core Group Teacher, NeTT) highlighted the alignment of NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023 with STEAM Education, emphasising its critical role in developing scientific temperament among students.
As part of the interactive activities, Pinki Sharma (Core Group Teacher, NeTT) supported student-teachers working in groups to design and demonstrate innovative models such as air ovens, hand-pressure tools, rainwater harvesting models, pulley systems, air-powered cars, and hydraulic-pressure models. These activities encouraged them to think, explore, experiment and innovate. Addionally, Jainendra Kumar (Team Leader, NeTT) encouraged student-teachers to apply STEAM approaches during their teaching practice in primary schools, helping young children develop scientific temperament, inquiry-based learning habits, and confidence through joyful experimentation.
Humana People to People India (HPPI) is implementing the NeTT Programme in partnership with the Rural India Supporting Trust (RIST), in cooperation with the Basic Education Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
