Refresher Training of LEAD, peri-urban Mumbai Field Officers
LEAD (Leveraging, Engaging and Advocating to Disrupt TB Transmission), peri-urban Mumbai team organised a three-day refresher training workshop for the city field officers. The training was during 14th February to 16th February 2024 at Community Engagement Center in Bhiwandi, Mumbai.
The primary objectives of the training sessions were to review the progress of the City Field Officers (CFOs), discuss the challenges they face and how to address them. The officers’ achievements were also highlighted in the sessions. Additionally, the training focused on various aspects related to TB management and field operations such as correcting Management Information System (MIS) errors, discuss treatment outcomes of PwTB and close contact tracing.
Ashok Sable (Senior Treatment Lab Supervisor, NTEP), Vivek Gaikward (Senior Dots Provider Supervisor, NTEP), Anil Kumar Gupta (District PPM Coordinator, NTEP) and Md. Sayyed Assad Qssim (Social Worker, BNCMC) participated in the training and provided key insights.
Project LEAD is being implemented by Human People to People India (HPPI) in collaboration with the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) of India, JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., funded by USAID under the Tuberculosis Implementation Framework Agreement (TIFA) Programme, to facilitate TB services for the urban ultra-poor.
