Graduation Ceremony at Skill Development Center for Beautician and Tailoring
HPPI’s Skill Development Center for Beautician and Tailoring in Gurugram celebrated the accomplishments of 60 students at a Graduation Ceremony held on 25th October 2024, at the project office. Recognising the hard work of the students, each graduate received a certificate of achievement and the top three performers were awarded basic kits to support their start in sewing or beautician.
To further inspire entrepreneurship, two standout students received special awards: a sewing machine for a tailoring graduate and a full beautician kit for a beautician graduate to help establish their own businesses. Anandita Pahwa, (Head of CSR, DRI) encouraged the graduates to pursue their passion. Imran (Executive CSR, DRI), Daipayan Panigrahi (National Programme Officer, HPPI) and Hira Lal Mahato (National Programme Officer, HPPI) also participated in the event. The event highlighted the power of collaborative efforts in promoting women skill development. Four women shared their inspiring journeys, showcasing the life-changing impact of these skill programmes.
Humana People to People India in partnership with Desiccant Rotors International (DRI) is implementing the Skill Development Project for Beautician and Tailoring in Gurugram and providing skill training to 240 women annually.
