Disha’s Skill & Business Information Fairs in Mathura and Agra

Disha’s Skill & Business Information Fairs in Mathura and Agra

HPPI’s Disha Project organised Skill and Business Information Fairs in Mathura and Agra (Uttar Pradesh) on 22nd and 26th November 2024. The events’ primary objective was for increasing awareness among the women of the communities about the project’s interventions and entrepreneurship development training. The events also celebrated the skills of women and provided them with a platform to start their businesses.
The event in Mathura was inaugurated by Buddhi Mishra (District Programme Officer, Department of ICDS), Soniya Mathur (President, Jagriti Mahila Society at District Urban Development Agency), Bhupendra Singh (Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute) and Amit Chaturvedi (Senior Counsellor at Financial Literacy Centre). Kailash Khandelwal (Director, HPPI), Kusum Gaur (National Partnership Officer, HPPI) and Divyakar Pathak (Lead – Partnerships and Gender Equality, HPPI) were at the event along with other HPPI staff. In Agra, Jitendra Kumar (Director, Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute) and Shashir Kumar Gupta (Field Executive, Financial Literacy Centre) participated in the event.
The skill fairs made even more impactful with the participation of various departments that extended their support to women through information about different schemes. Successful business women shared their inspiring entrepreneurial journeys. Their stories served as powerful examples, motivating and encouraging other women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. The event also had stalls where the project’s entrepreneurs showcased their products. The fair not only allowed these women to exhibit their products but also enabled them to interact with the guests, network and connect with potential business opportunities. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of more than 415 aspiring women entrepreneurs in Mathura and 568 women in Agra.
HPPI is implementing the Disha Project in partnership with YES Foundation.
